My mom moved to El Sereno, and they have been very welcoming to her. We asked for a few corrections when she moved in, and they took care of them right away. She is happy there, which makes me very happy since she is now closer to me. The facilities are clean, and the other neighbors are friendly.

Almost a year living at these apartments. Very nice and only 6 years old I believe. Very helpful office staff, Jelysa and Donna. I love my corner apartment, the kitchen has an island. Very roomy cute set up and great balcony. It’s all I need. Going to enjoy the pool this summer and get on the treadmill. It’s a peaceful place to live. I appreciate where I live. My dog does as well.

Great place Except for the constant Roach problem! The entire building needs sprayed all at once...not just 12 apts at a time! They just travel to other apts until that unit gets treated! They travel thru vents, doors ect! It's really getting annoying! The Maintenance men are Awesome and do a Great job! They are friendly and caring too! The rents are little high for Senior living! Could use more of a percentage off! Also, the bathrooms aren't Senior qualified! Should be walk in showers, not tubs! Higher toilets and hand rails in and out of shiwer/tub! Remember...you asked!!!😄

I have lived at El Sereno for a little over four years now. I’m 75 and being a homeowner for most of my life, I was concerned about living in an apartment. There was so many negative comments. I’m telling you fro experience, this El Sereno apartment has proven to be the best decision I made for myself. I am so grateful for Donna, the manager. She will LISTEN to you and what I love is when she can accommodate you she will honestly help or do her best. She is always respectful. I have asked several questions and received a n, I can’t do that…BECAUSE, and she educates me as to why. I love that! There are some that don’t understand, or care that the apartment they live in is where they rent to live but there are rules and requirements they are expected to obey. They really give Donna a hard time but she doesn’t budge from her loyalty to the company. JoLisa(misspelled I’m sure) Donna’s assistant, is a super woman! Pleasant, respectful, nice and kind. She does so much in assisting Donna freeing her to be an amazing manager. She s such a reliable and positive person. She just makes you feel respected and listened to honestly. There will probably always be complainers, people that don’t like the rules and get mad because they don’t like the rules. Oh well, try going into their apartment and doing what you want. 🤷‍♀️ I love this place and just stay away from complainers. You would do well to honor Donna and JoLisa for being so diligent and representing ElSereno so professionally. I really admire the work they do and their professionalism.

I’ve been living here for almost a year and I love it. I feel very secure with inside entrance and doors being locked at night. Met great friends. Donna and Jelysa are great managers. Maintenance guys are also great. Place is always clean and issues are always fixed in a timely manner.

Yesterday, my air conditioner went out. I called the office at 3:15. They had the maintenance man there by 3:35. He realized that it was gonna take some professional work to get the air back on. They called air conditioning people they came over to my apartment at 5:30 and they were done by 6:30 and the air conditioner cold on by 7 o’clock. Thank you for the work excellent job professionalism. 👍

I have resided at El Sereno Senior Living since 5/31/2019. Overall I have been happy with my 1 bedroom apartment and especially with a wonderful group of dear friends residing here. My primary reason for not giving a 5 star review is the inherent flaws with regard to the way the structure was built, ie no proper janitors facility which has greatly influenced how building is kept clean. Poor quality paint jobs in our apartments and lack of washable enamel in areas such as kitchen, bathroom. Kitchen cabinets not well suited for seniors, ie upper shelves are wasted space without a step ladder. Sodded areas all around the building were not leveled prior to sodding, including the “Pet Yard”, so there are many divots and holes posing a risk for seniors with poor balance. And for all the money spent on the landscaping the previous companies hired to maintain it didn’t seem to care how they did it and many trees, shrubs and ground cover suffered…..some due to weather, but many were not suited for this location and died leaving many bare spaces. But probably the most irritating item has been ongoing false fire alarms ,despite being a “smoke free” building. But Melissa and her staff are working on this too. Also the rapid turnover of office staff, many of whom lacked people and problem solving skills, especially in first 2 yrs.. Once ConAm replaced Mayfair I felt there was hope on many levels. And with the last longer term manager’s resignation and ConAm Area Manager, Melissa Senkel, and her team taking the reins until a permanent, committed manger is in place….Well we are all seeing some very good things happening. Finally money is being spent for resident activities and management hosted events are taking place. Every Tues morning we now have coffee and donuts in the club room! More residents are gathering to meet and greet and this is always good! We now have a pool table, Foosball and proper equipment for the Bocci court! And we are learning from Melissa that many more items are being added or replaced , and better use of space, better cleaning tools are now being looked at and Melissa seems very committed to finding solutions for the problems and to having this building clean and presentable on ALL the floors. So my hope is that El Sereno Senior Living is finally on it’s way to be the great living place we have hoped it could be and this is thanks to a very seasoned Area Manager for ConAm, Melissa Senkel, who walks the property, talks to residents and most importantly listens to what they have to say! ☺️👍

I absolutely love living here! Wonderful pool, gym and exercise room. Management listens and is supportive of our wants/needs. Maintenence staff is friendly and helpful. Recently added pool table,tabletop shuffleboard and bowling. Big screen TV.

I lived here for two years moved in 3 months after it opened..I loved it..I was on the third floor, And did not have any problems, only one bad neighbor but there is always One Bad Apple in the bunch right!!! The grounds are well-manicured, the residents are awesome, the only negative I can say is the owners out in California really need to find a good management company to handle the kinks that still need to be worked out due to a new building and all it's codes..

I understand that there are always going to be some complaints, especially in regards to apartments - however, while there have been a few issues (as there always are with a new development), my overall experience has been positive. My boyfriend's mother was able to move into a brand new, affordable apartment - something we were not able to afford for her anywhere else. The apartment is spacious and fairly modern, and every time we have visited, the building is very quiet. Compared to other senior living apartments we visited, this has been a wonderful experience. She has enjoyed meeting other residents, and I noticed yesterday that more options are being offered - like a shuttle to Walmart, CVS, and HEB, and a Bunko night, and other social events. It seems to be a safe area and building and her neighbors are very nice. We feel good having her at El Sereno.
